Women so often say “He’s bald” like a bald man has some sort of disease, is repulsive, or is rude. Going bald is just a part of getting older for many men, like getting wrinkles. Balding is a natural thing. I find it shallow for a woman to only date men with heads full of hair. Women like this may want to rethink her stance on bald or balding men because a man can have a nice, full head of hair today, and in 5 years be balding.
There are plenty men who have a nice head of hair at 30 then, by 40, be very bald.
A full head of hair is not a sign success. A full head of hair can’t tell you if a man is respectable or trash. So, by judging a man solely on how much hair he has seems completely irrational.
Men who shave their heads on purpose don’t count when referring to how vulgar I find women who will only date a man who has a nice, full coif. Bald heads have become more fashionable over the past couple decades. Some men, who can grow a full head of hair, will intentionally shave their heads to achieve this somewhat trendy look. A man who’s bald or balding would love to have their hair back and it bothers some of these men to see anyone with nice hair shave it off.
I’ve read about a woman saying to a dating prospect, “He’s not for me. HE doesn’t even have hair. I want a man with a full head of hair.” I’ve overheard a woman say, “I think guys with shaved heads are hot! The shaved head look is so manly and sexy. Good looking guys with shaved heads remind me of Bruce Willis, Vin Diesel, and Jason Statham.” Fellas, if you’re reading this and you’re bald, you better believe the four guys this woman mentioned are NOT hurting for action.
I get it. No matter what people say, almost all the time people are attractive to other people based on their looks. Sure, there’s a time or two when someone is first turned on by someones work, writing, or music, but more often than not, people are turned on by appearance. I also understand that everyone has personal taste. Some women like skinny men, or tall men, or muscular men, or men with big chins or cheek bones. It’s safe to say most of us, men and women, want a mate who’s healthy. Baldness (unless we’re talking cancer or the-like) is not a way to gauge health. Most people associate hair with age and maturity, so why do many women associate baldness with health?
The United States is full of men from Eastern European anscetors which contributes to their being less bald men in the US. Places like Western Europe, the UK, and Scandinavia have far many more bald men per capita. Baldness in those regions is more acceptable because it happens to most men. My point is, if you’re living somewhere with most men going bald, it’s not a big deal at all and is “normal.” If you live somewhere with half of men bald and half of men walking around with a head full of hair, you can pick what you like in the hair department, and have plenty of choices whether you’re into a man who’s bald, a man who has lots of hair, or both.
If you’re a 35 year old woman and you’re only interested in men with full heads of hair, how would she feel if 30 year old men preferred only to date women their age with firm breasts, no gray hair, and no wrinkles? All of this, losing hair, growing grays, and once firm breasts now starting to lose their fight against gravity is normal.
It’s possible that some women are less attracted to bald men, not because they’re bald or balding, but because of the psychological effects going bald can have on a man. Here in western society, for so long most of cinema’s leading men had full heads of hair and all the popular, male musicians had full heads of hair. Now, if you’re a man in your 20′s or 30′s and you’re losing your hair, you’re almost certain to lose confidence.
If you’re a balding man, don’t ever try to cover it up. There will be a day when you can’t mask your balding and it’s going to be much harder for you, and everyone around you, to adjust to and accept your lack of folicles. If you’re going bald, it’s okay to hold on to it for a while, but why not just shave it all off? As I mentioned above, bald heads are sexy now. More tips to boost your confidence include dressing well, always stand up straight, make eye contact when you’re talking to men, women, your boss, everyone, and smile. There will always be women who stereotype men with bald heads. You know what? It’s their loss!
Bonus!

Hey, great article. It really puts a few things in perspective for me. Ive been balding since I was 20 and have tried every remedy under the sun. I took it really hard at first and cursed the day I was born and cursed my parents for my genetics. But its a fight against genetics and I just couldn’t win. I look back and just laugh at myself now. Its gone. I stopped looking up there everyday in the mirror.
Its really nice to know that a bald head is still considered HOT in some places. Around here women also say “its not about your hair.” they would make an exception for a guy with a bald head if he has a high social status or lucrative position at work. They also love the bad boy look like guys with muscles and a lot of tattoos. Ive personally found that bald guys still get laid just as much as guys with hair.
But like you said its all about location. hotter locations like bald heads while colder locations dont. its pretty simple. Hotter chicks like hotter locations also. so bald headed guys should consider moving to warmer locations.
