How To Date After Spouse Dies
If you recently lost a loved one, it’s probably impossible to think about being romantically involved with someone else.
In the beginning, romance is nowhere near as important as things like term life insurance, funeral arrangements and mourning. But, as time goes by, you may soon realize that being lonely is not a great way to go through life. Time also helps with being able to rationalize the thought of your dead spouse not wanting you to be alone. Truth is, you’ll feel the need to date and find happiness again and you should know those feelings are normal, natural, and OK.
Know what you want before you start looking for a new companion. Be sure you’ve taken enough time to grieve the loss of your loved one. Don’t let irrational judgment of others dictate whether or not you find happiness with someone new. Use caution (with your emotions). You may find yourself to be vulnerable which could be dangerous with the wrong person. Not everyone you meet will be the next love of your life. But, finding new friends during this process has its own benefits.
