Having to travel away from your significant other, either for a few days or for a year, is never easy to do. If you really feel like he or she is the one, and you genuinely want to stay faithful and be with this person when you return, you’re both going to have to work hard together even when you’re not together. If you can keep the following 5 parts of your lives in order while you’re away, you’ll have a damn good chance of making it work.

1. Communication. You both need to be in touch with each other frequently. Let each other know how your day has been and how much you miss the other. Send sweet emails, text messages and voicemails.
2. Jealousy. Try to keep this to a minimum. Sure you’re going to worry about what he/she is doing but if you start making accusations of infidelity, you’re almost certainly going to sabotage the relationship. Also, if the other person feels like they’re going to get treated the same negative way whether they’re cheating or not, your jealousy may push them into cheating. I know that sounds twisted but it’s happened to me so I hop you heed this warning.
3. Sex. If you have agreed not to have sex with other people while one of you is away, you’re going to have to do something to satisfy your urges. Masturbating gets old after a while. 4. Finances. The person who is away may not have a fancy accounting firm to handle all his or her finances. 5. Friends. It’s always good to have mutual friends in a relationship that’s headed in the direction of one who is leaving for an extended period of time. Always make sure your friends of the same sex are trustworthy because you don’t want to go back and have to deal with the jealousy advice I have given above because you think your mutual friend is sleeping with your man or woman back home.
